Dr. Cohen grew up in SW Florida with a love for animals both small and large. Her family had dogs, cats, horses, cows, and chickens!, Much of her time as a child was spent tending to her pets and horseback riding. Both her parents were involved in the medical field so veterinary medicine was a natural choice for her from a young age. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Doctorate in Veteinary Medicine at the University of Florida, Dr Cohen decided that small animal veterinary medicine was her passion. She worked in Florida and New York City before returning to SW Florida. Dr. Cohen’s interests in veterinary medicine include wellness, internal medicine, and dermatology. Dr. Cohen loves SW Florida for the beautiful outdoors and wildlife. She enjoys the beach, biking, and taking walks in the Florida sunshine.
Animal wellness center of bonita warmly welcomes Kristina to our medical team! Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Kristina moved with her family to Southwest Florida in 1995. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and her Associates Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing from Florida Gulfcoast University in 2008. After working for the State Attorney's Office in Collier County, and interning for a criminal defense attorney in Naples and the Public Defender’s Office in Fort Myers, she discovered that criminal justice no longer appealed to her and decided to pursue her passion and childhood dream of working with animals. She began by volunteering with local rescue groups, and working with the Humane Society of Naples. Kristina has been volunteering/working in the field of veterinary medicine since 2005. Currently residing in Bonita Springs with her boyfriend, Chris, their four cats: Vito, Chester, Cassie and Zak, and their Golden Retriever, Addison (Addi), Kristina is an avid Florida Gators, Florida Everblades, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, and Chicago Bears fan. Very involved in animal rescue, Kristina serves on the board of the Golden Retriver Rescue of SW Florida as the medical coordinator. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her animals…watching her favorite sports teams play, going to ice hockey games, the beach, traveling, attending animal rescue events, and going to country music concerts.
Christianne joined Animal Wellness Center of Bonita as Office Manager in April 2018. Originally from Ohio, her love of animals began at a very young age. An avid horseback rider, Christianne competed competitively in Hunter/Jumper, and Presage categories for many years before deciding that the brutal winters were unbearable and relocated to Florida in 1998. Immediately upon arrival, she sought a career helping animals. She began as a veterinary receptionist, and quickly advanced to a veterinary practice manager. Having gleaned greater than 15 years experience as an office manager, Christianne joined the professional team at Animal Wellness Center of Bonita in April 2018. Christianne enjoys spending her personal time with her two pitbull rescues, Taylon and Haze, along with boating, beach going, and also is an avid concert attendee.
