Electrocardiograph (EKG/ECG)
If the veterinarian detects an irregular heart rhythm upon your pet’s exam, an electrocardiogram may be recommended. Also known as an EKG or ECG, and electrocardiogram is a recording of the electrical impulses that are generated when the heart is beating. An ECG can detect disturbances in your pet’s heartbeat and can help the doctor diagnose various types of heart conditions.
Cardiology via Telemedicine
AWCB utilizes technology to it’s fullest by taking advantage consulting with a cardiologist regarding your pet’s heart condition. We are able to send the EKG results directly to the cardiologist via email so they can provide a detailed written assessment of the EKG in conjunction with patient medical history. The cardiologist can make diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations to your pet’s veterinarian.
